Some-“fins” interesting here

Among the countless treasures on display at the Lititz Historical Foundation is an especially curious object.

Manufactured and used in Lititz many years ago, fish horns like the one seen here proved to be very beneficial for those in the business of selling fresh catches all across Pennsylvania – as well as around the country — over 100 years ago. When the fishmonger was arriving to town with his specials of the day, he would blow this horn to let housewives know that he was in the neighborhood. Yes, this instrument had a special purpose, and wasn’t something that was played “just for the halibut.”

In all seriousness, the fish horn is a very interesting item with a fascinating story.
